Each year, La Trobe University Hockey Club offers up to four scholarships for students studying at La Trobe University.
SCHOLARSHIP
Two women and two men will be eligible to receive:
- Complimentary first year playing fees
- Complimentary second year playing fees
- Playing uniform
- $500 to assist with cost of living
ELIGIBILITY
- Applicants must be a La Trobe University student.
- Applicants cannot have played seniors at La Trobe University Hockey Club previously, unless they were under 18 at the time.
CRITERIA
The purpose of the scholarship is to attract new competitive players, and is intended to recruit members into our Women’s and Men’s 1s. Applicants will be assessed on their competitive hockey experience.
FINE PRINT
- The $500 is paid in two instalments. 50% in Round 1, and 50% in Round 18 which is subject to the recipient playing 15 or more rounds.
- The club reserves the right to not award any scholarships.

The Erickson Student Scholarship is named after Ross Erickson, who celebrated his 50th season in 2021, the inaugural year of the scholarship. Ross is a Life Member, and the only recipient of the President’s Plate for his outstanding contribution to the club over a life time. He is our longest serving member in history, but most importantly has always demonstrated a generous spirit, particularly for students coming into the club.
